Powder Coating is a well known, environmentally safe, method of applying electrostatically charged powder onto a grounded part. The positively charged powder is attracted to the negative grounded part surrounding it and coating it completely. During the high temperature baking process, the powder liquefies forming a tough, corrosion resistant finish that resists scratches, UV and weathering.

Powder coating has come a long way since it’s conception in the 1950’s. Today there are millions of parts and components powder coated every day. And what started out with just a few colors many decades ago has transformed into an amazing array of thousands of powder coat colors- including clear coats for an unbelievable gloss finish.

AIC is one of South Jersey’s premier powder coating shops and has hundreds of stock powder coat colors to choose from but we also have access to thousands more! We can create a unique powder coating just for you. Want a chrome look? We can give it to you. Metallic powder coat colors? No problem. Candy reds, glossy, wet blacks, sparkling silver, you got it. We even offer textured powder coat applications.

ALTHOUGH BEAUTIFUL, let’s not forget that powder coating was designed for PROTECTION. With that in mind, AIC mainly specializes in spraying for that very purpose. We regularly spray Super Durable Powders, Powder Primers, Anti Graffiti and Military (CARC) Chemical Resistant Powders.

The powder Coat System:

First, we will clean and strip your part of all existing paint, rust, grime and scale—restoring the metal completely. Sandblasting is our most popular method of restoring the metal. Chemical stripping is also used for softer, thinner metals.

Next, with our state of the art electrostatic sprayer, we apply the powdercoat colors of your choice.

Finally, your part is placed into one of Powder Coating Ovens and baked at high temperature which liquefies the powder forming a tough corrosion and weather resistant finish.

We can sandblast and powder coat all kinds of parts. From large parts, (up to 40 ft long) to small nuts, bolts and anything in-between. Bottom line: if it can withstand the 400 degree baking temperature, we can Powder Coat it.
